Northern Chile Fieldwork

September 2026

I completed fieldwork in northern Chile near Iquique with researcher Bertran Potin and Ph.D. student Bastian Valdes, in collaboration with Brad Lipovsky, Juan Baez, and host professor Sergio Ruiz. During the deployment, we installed a DAS array in Puerto Patache and two temporary seismic stations to support high-resolution observations of shallow seismicity in a subduction-zone setting.

Volcano Field Trip Organized by UNR

I joined a volcano field trip organized by UNR, where we explored volcanic landscapes and connected field observations with questions in volcanology, earthquakes, and geophysical monitoring.

Field DAS Deployment in Yellowstone

I participated in fieldwork in Yellowstone with Will, a University of Washington graduate student, working with fiber-optic sensing in a volcanic and hydrothermal environment.

Fieldwork in Cordón Caulle

January 2026

Fieldwork in Cordón Caulle focused on connecting volcanic deposits, field observations, and fiber-optic sensing with questions in volcano seismology. We will use ambient-noise imaging to reveal details of the volcanic plumbing system.
