Earthquakes
I study earthquake source properties using dense seismic observations, especially Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS). My current work focuses on small and moderate earthquakes in Cook Inlet, Alaska, where DAS records dense wavefields that can be used to estimate source properties and investigate earthquake directivity.
Offshore Earthquake Source Studies
Using subsea DAS data from Cook Inlet, Alaska, I analyze offshore earthquakes and estimate source parameters such as seismic moment, corner frequency, and stress drop. I also study earthquake directivity to understand how rupture propagation shapes the recorded wavefield. These measurements help connect dense DAS observations with physical properties of earthquake rupture.
